Event Description
Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 28 for the 1st Annual Scribbles' Walk & Pet Fest from 9 am-1 pm!  

The Norwalk Easter Public Library and NEPL Foundation are pairing up for this fun community event and library fundraiser.  Participants are encouraged to register to walk (with or without) their furry friends on a short, 1-mile path near the library, ending in City Park for the Pet Fest featuring local vendors as well as a dog agility demo, food trucks, and a pet costume contest.  

Schedule for September 28:
8:30 am -           Pick up registration packet/t-shirt (if not picked up earlier in the week) at Library
9:00 am -           Scribbles' Walk begins in Brownie Park
9:00 am-1 pm - Food trucks & Pet Fest vendors open for business in City Park & Library lot
10:30 am -         Pet Costume Contest judging at the basketball court
11 am-Noon -     Dog Trick Demos every 15 minutes in the Dog Park 

Registrants will receive a t-shirt to show your support of our library (thanks to Hudddle* formerly known as The Norwalk Shop for production and support). All registrations will be entered in a drawing for a $50 dog wash gift certificate to Amore Pets of Norwalk.   And many thanks to Kwik Star, Patty L Pampered Pets, & Pet Butler for their generous sponsorships - you are dog-gone kind

The Norwalk Easter Public Library and NEPL Foundation are pairing up for this fun community event and library fundraiser.  Participants are encouraged to register to walk (with or without) their furry friends on a short, 1-mile path near the library, ending in City Park for the Pet Fest featuring local vendors as well as a dog trick demo, food trucks, a StoryWalk, and a pet costume contest.  

Registrants will receive a t-shirt to show your support of our library (thanks to Hudddle* formerly known as The Norwalk Shop for production and support). All registrations will be entered in a drawing for a $50 dog wash gift certificate to Amore Pets of Norwalk.  Adults 18 & older - $25; Kids 3-17 - $15; Kids Under 3 - free.  All proceeds go to support the programs and services of the library.  And many thanks to Kwik Star & Pet Butler for their generous sponsorships - you are so dog-gone kind!  

Don't have a dog?  Purchase one of our adorable puppies-on-a-leash to walk with you under ticket sales for $5, while supplies last. 

Norwalk Fareway is providing water and snack stations for dogs and their humans along the walking path.  Save some room as food trucks will be offering tasty treats after the Walk!  Tro Sno will have shaved ice treats.  D'Ice Cream Man will have ice cream treats, mini-donuts, and warm pretzels.  The Sandwich Shop will have pulled pork, mac & cheese, & deli sandwiches.

Pet Fest vendors will be on hand following this fun walk, so you can meet other pet enthusiasts.  Vendors include Hope Animal Rescue, Hudddle* (formerly known as The Norwalk Shop), Norwalk Easter Public Library Foundation, Norwalk Fire Department, Norwalk Parks & Recreation, Norwalk Police Department, Norwalk Rotary Club, Patty L Pampered Pets, Pet Butler, Prelude Assistance Dogs, Starbucks, and Whiskers TNR.

Enter your pet in the Pet Costume Contest to take place in City Park at 10:30 am.  All registered participants in the Scribbles' Walk have a costume contest registration included for their pet.  Others can register their pet online for a small fee.  Our celebrity judges will choose the Most Original costume; Best Literary-Themed costume; and Funniest costume and there are some fun prizes!

Dog Trick Demonstrations every 15 minutes between 11 am and noon in the Norwalk Dog Park.  Patty L Pampered Pets will show off some dog-gone good tricks.

Kids and families will enjoy the StoryWalk along the "Pathway to Reading" in Brownie Park.  Dog's Colorful Day by Emma Dodd is the featured book.

Registration packets with t-shirt will be available for pickup at the library starting Monday, September 23 during regular library hours.  Don't miss it - the Scribbles' Walk & Pet Fest is sure to be a tail-wagging good time!
